If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message so we can reply. Contact messages are used only to respond to the enquiry and to correct or improve the data published here. We do not add contact-form addresses to mailing lists and we do not share them with third parties for marketing.

Data We Publish
The vehicle data on this site comes from public NHTSA and EPA datasets. NHTSA complaint records are published by NHTSA without owner names, and we reproduce only counts, components and outcome fields — never personal information about complainants, and never full vehicle identification numbers.

We link to nhtsa.gov, fueleconomy.gov and safercar.gov for VIN lookups and source records. Those sites are operated by the U.S. government and have their own privacy policies, which apply when you follow a link.
Retention and Your Rights
Contact messages are retained only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and maintain the correction record for the affected figure, and are then deleted. Analytics data is held by Google Analytics under its standard retention settings and is used in aggregate. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you — in practice, that is limited to contact correspondence — and you can exercise those rights through the contact page. We respond to such requests directly; there is no account system on this site and no profile to delete.
Security and Children
The contact form is protected by a spam filter, and messages are transmitted over an encrypted connection. No part of this site is directed at children under 13, and the vehicle datasets contain no information about individuals. If you believe a page reproduces personal information in error, contact us and we will remove it — the published complaint data is counts and components only, exactly as released by NHTSA in aggregate form.
