The Data
All vehicle figures on this site are reproduced or computed from public datasets published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Those agencies own and maintain the underlying records and may correct or withdraw them at any time. We work to reproduce them faithfully but we do not warrant that any figure is complete, current or error-free at the moment you read it, and the agencies' own publications prevail over ours in the event of any difference.
No Affiliation
This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by NHTSA, the EPA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Energy, or any vehicle manufacturer, dealer or marketplace. Agency and manufacturer names are used only to identify the source of data and the vehicles the data describes.
Use of the Site
You may read, link to and quote reasonable extracts of pages with attribution and a link back. Automated scraping that degrades the service, attempts to disrupt the site, or misrepresentation of the data as your own official record are not permitted. Vehicle safety decisions — including purchase, repair and recall decisions — should always be confirmed against the vehicle itself and the official VIN lookup at nhtsa.gov; nothing on this site is advice about a specific vehicle.
Liability
The site is provided as-is for general information. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for loss arising from reliance on any figure published here, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Recall repairs and safety outcomes are the responsibility of manufacturers and the agencies that regulate them.
Submissions and Third-Party Material
If you send us a correction or suggestion, you grant us permission to use the substance of it — the corrected figure, the source you cite — in the published data without payment or further permission; do not send material you do not have the right to share. Pages link to third-party and government websites for source records and lookups; those sites are outside our control and their content and terms are their own. Product and company names mentioned in data records are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the records' subject matter, as the source datasets themselves use them.
Governing Terms
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be read as narrowly as possible to make it enforceable. These terms, together with the privacy policy and disclaimer, are the complete agreement between you and this site regarding its use. Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
